Taking Your Kitten Home
This page provides general information, guidelines and links
to access relevant articles on feline health issues. This
information will assist you as a pet owner to make informed
choices about how you look after your cat.
VACCINATIONS:

As an owner you will have to make decisions about vaccinations. Vaccinating on an
annual basis or accepting recent changes to recommended vaccine protocols are
all decisions and choices pet owners have to make based on the factual
information available to them. Vaccinations are a controversial issue, not only in
relation to how often, but also the differing views on the types of vaccines we use.

This section is offered in order that owners can make informed choices about
which vaccines they use and how often they vaccinate their cats. The current
thinking strongly suggests that each cat's situation should be considered on an
individual basis depending on the risks they are exposed to.

There is a wealth of information available so please research your options.
Please note we only ever use the F3 killed vaccine on our cats and kittens and
strongly recommend that  pet kittens receive the same in their new homes. The
protocols for breeding cats and pets do differ due to the difference in risk
exposure. Below are a couple of links to get you started.  (Please note US links
include rabies which is not relevant in Australia)
